Dr. Daniel J. Para is a Chicago native who made Arizona his home in 1998. Dr. Para earned an undergraduate degree from Stanford University
and a medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He went on to complete his integrated surgical residency at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, the Mayo clinic in Scottsdale, Carl T. Hayden VAMC and Phoenix Indian Medical Center in Phoenix Arizona . He then continued at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Before attending medical school, Dr. Para worked for a year as an analyst for Genentech Inc. in San Francisco, California. He also served as a primary care health volunteer for Crossroads of Africa, Inc. providing vaccinations and health education to villagers in Sierra Leone, West Africa.
Dr. Para began his practice in Joliet, Illinois and practiced General Surgery for two years at Silver Cross Hospital. Due to his preference in coming to a warmer climate, Dr. Para relocated his practice to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1998. Dr. Para practiced general and laparoendoscopic surgery for 9 years at Havasu Regional Medical Center. As years passed by, Dr. Para and his wife decided to move to the Phoenix area in 2007. Dr. Para has practiced at Maryvale Hospital, Surgical Specialty Hospital of Arizona, Arizona Regional Medical Center and St. Luke's Medical Center. Dr. Para is currently on staff at Tempe St. Luke's Hospital and Dignity Health, Arizona General Hospital.
Dr. Para and his wife share 4 children who are all grown young adults. His wife Maria is working in Dr. Para's office as his nurse and practice administrator. In his leisure time, Dr. Para enjoys golfing, reading, cooking and watching his Chicago sports teams.
